The Post Road in Westport could have been confused for New York City on Tuesday night. Not because there were movie premieres or red carpets, but because some of the Big Apple’s fashionable celebrities attended the opening of Christian Siriano’s new Westport shop, The Collective West.
Billed as a “mini department store,” The Collective West features “clothing exclusive to the store,” according to Vogue, as well as accessories, interior furnishings and art Siriano began making during the COVID-19 pandemic. His store will also feature local designers, such as home furnishings shop Swoon Westport, Josh Levkoff Jewelry and menswear from brand Future Lovers of Tomorrow designed by Kyle Smith (Siriano’s boyfriend).

The store’s opening featured a host of celebrity guests, including actresses Debra Messing, Laura Linney and Katie Holmes, as well as model Coco Rocha. With these celebrities flocking to the fringes of the big city for his store opening, Siriano seems to have other big names following his migration to suburban Connecticut life. Noting that the town “started as an artist community in the ‘60s,” Siriano told Vogue that he is “actually talking to a couple friends who have fabulous restaurants in the city who would like to open” in Westport.
Rocha, who often models Siriano’s designs, also moved from Westchester County, N.Y. to Greenwich, according to Vogue.

Last week, the inclusive fashion designer — who has created looks for everyone from former first lady Michelle Obama to tennis player Caroline Wozniacki — teased the opening of his new Connecticut store on Instagram. While the store is in its infancy, Siriano is no stranger to the Westport community; he moved there from Danbury in 2020 and has been seen dining around the area.
The designer also has a store in New York City “The Curated NYC,” a multi-brand boutique that offers luxury clothing, ready-to-wear, jewelry, bags, art pieces, fragrances and candles, vintage decor and other accessories.
The Collective West is located on 940 Post Road East in Westport.
