Finding a delicious food truck in the wild can feel like a culinary triumph and one list aims to make the hunt even easier by naming the best food trucks in every state. You may think the streets of Manhattan with their melting pot of diverse morsels would claim the number one food truck spot, but that title has been awarded to one Upstate New York wagon.

According to ZenBusiness.com, the best food truck in New York is Neno’s Gourmet Mexican Street Food in Rochester.

Neno’s Gourmet Mexican Street Food started in as a food truck in 2015. The Rochester City Newspaper reports the owners, three siblings, arrived in Rochester from Mexico in 2007. The truck only sold tacos at the time and became so popular, they opened a brick-and-mortar Mexican restaurant on Monroe Ave. Business continued to grow from there, so now you can also visit Neno’s at Star Cider in the Finger Lakes region of Canandaigua.

One reviewer said of Neno’s, “It’s food that makes your mouth sing!”

Neno’s food truck has also expanded their menu to include tostadas, burritos, and other Mexican dishes. In addition to their new for 2022 spot on Park Ave. they can be found at spring and summer festivals, farmers markets, and are available for hire for weddings and other events.

To make their list, ZenBusiness analyzed data from Yelp. The top food truck for each city and the top food truck for each state were the highest-ranked results with at least 20 reviews and a star rating equal to or higher than 4.5. The best food trucks in cities were those places with a population of over 100,000 people.

Syracuse residents can find their best food truck dining on at Toss ‘n’ Fire Wood-Fired Pizza as popular pies include the ‘Cuse Salt Potato Pizza covered in smashed potatoes, mozzarella, cheddar and Applewood smoked bacon, and the Three Little Pigs pizza — a meatfest of spicy Italian sausage, pepperoni and Applewood smoked bacon.

While Buffalo’s best food truck honor went to Roaming Buffalo, their website reflects it was sold and is now a Solidays Restaurant food truck.
