Food court fires stallholder seen smoking while cooking, Singapore News

A food courtroom personnel who was seen cigarette smoking whilst handling food with no gloves has been sacked by Meals Junction, a spokesman informed Stomp.

A buyer shared shots of the incident on-line immediately after catching the male in the act at Junction 8 buying shopping mall final Thursday (Mar 17), at close to 7.55pm.

When contacted by Stomp, the woman reported she experienced requested dinner from What The Fish, the foodstuff court’s grilled fish stall.

She recounted: “I purchased half a sea bass (spicy) at $12.80 with extra objects (golden mushroom and cabbage). The total was $14.80.

“I waited at a length absent for my food stuff to be all set. At 7.55pm, I checked the get time on my receipt and it showed 7.45pm. As the clients in advance of me experienced collected their orders, I moved nearer to the stall.

The customer reported she did not tell Food stuff Junction about the incident, but has noted the issue to the Singapore Food Agency (SFA).

In reaction to a Stomp query, a spokesman for Foodstuff Junction stated it has investigated the incident.

A stern warning has been issued to the tenant who is functioning the stall.

The spokesman instructed Stomp on Monday (Mar 21): “The personnel associated was also terminated with rapid outcome for failing to comply with our corporation procedures and government limitations.

“We have reiterated the severity of this to all our other tenants and will proceed monitoring and imposing all necessary steps and tips continuously.

“We would like to assure the community that food stuff safety and hygiene continues to be our topmost precedence and we will continue on to assure our stringent operational actions are strictly enforced.”
